Learning How to Play Lawn Tennis

I and one of my colleague decided to learn Lawn Tennis(Field Tennis). I wanted to play it because I’ve heard it requires lot of stamina and I wanted to loose weight quickly and I think this will be good choice.

Its an expensive game. All the coaching center which we enquired near to our house is kind of expensive. Except the SRS club it, but it has only 2 court and there is lot of people in queue, And the person is planning to join us only after 3 months. The equipment is also costly. A good Racket will cost around 14000 to 18000 Rs. We checked in Decathlon and they have variety around 2000 to 3000 but we checked with few coaches and they suggest its not of good quality. Again we need to buy tennis shoes and shorts.

So overall

1. Coaching for 1 – 3 months – 9000 To 15000 Rs

2. Racket – 2000 to 18000 Rs

3. Tennis Shoes – 1200 to 5000 Rs

4. Shorts – 799 To 2000 Rs

Racket is of different kind. So while selecting racket the condition we need to know is whether we are going to use is for Occasional or Regular purpose. Occasionally would be once in a month but Regular would be playing everyday.

Here’s the price list for different coaching center.

Jim Rohn’s Teaching

Jim Rohn was one of the best motivational speaker in the world. His messages are very profound, filled with wise thoughts and deep thinking.  He is one of my favorite speaker. Here’s few quotes which I’ve copied from different sources. Its inspires me every time I read it. I usually try to read these once in a month.

1. There are no new fundamentals

2. Some things you have to do everyday. Eating seven apples on Saturdays night instead of one a day isn’t going to get the job done.

3. Don’t just read the easy stuff. You may be entertained by it, but you will never grow from it.

4. Don’t bring your need to the marketplace, bring your skill. If you don’t feel well., tell your doctor, but not the marketplace. If you need money, go to the bank, but not the marketplace.

5. We get paid for bringing value to the marketplace. It takes time to bring value to the marketplace, but we get paid for the value, not for the time.

6. Here’s the major problem with going on strike for more money: You cannot get rich by demand.

7. One of the best places to start to turn your life around is by doing whatever appears on your mental "I should" list.

8. You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.

9. Learn to express, not impress.

10. You cannot speak that which you do not know. You cannot share that which you do not feel. You cannot translate that which you do not have. And you cannot give that which you do not posses. To give it and to share, and for it to be effective, you first need to have it. Good communication starts with good preparation.

11. Effective communication is 20% what you know and 80% how you feel about what you know.

12. Real persuasion comes from putting more of you into everything you say, words have an effect. Words loaded with emotion have a powerful effect.

13. Communication is the ability to affect other people with words.

14. The more you know, the less you need to say.

15. We need to teach our children how to debate the major life issues. Debate strengthens their beliefs and enables them to defend themselves against ideologies that are going to come their way.

16. When you know what you want, and you want it bad enough, you will find a way to get it.

17. Without a sense of urgency, desire loses its value.

18. All discipline affect each other. Mistakenly the man says, "This is the only area where I let down". Not true, Every let down affects the rest. Not to think so is naive.

19. The best time to set up a new discipline is when the idea is strong.

20. Sharpen your interest in two major subjects: life and people. You will only gather information from a source if you are interested in it.

21. Emotions will either server or master, depending on who is in charge.

22. Measure your emotions. You don’t need an atomic explosion for a minor point.

23. Show your contempt for the problem and your concern for the person.

24. Be sensitive to the plight of others. You have to know about the tragedies as well as the triumphs, the failures as well as the successes.

25. The more you care, the stronger you can be.

26. Showing a profit means touching something and leaving it better than you found it.

27. The formula for disaster is: Could + Should + Won’t.

28. Failure is not a single, cataclysmic event. You don’t fail overnight. Instead, failure is a few errors in judgment, repeated every day.

29. Nothing teaches character better than generosity.

30. Learn how to be happy with what you have while you pursue all that you want.

31. Happiness is not an accident. Nor is it something you wish for Happiness is something you design.

32. Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present.

33. Make sure the outside of you is a good reflection of the inside of you.

34. Take good care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.

35. Nothing is more powerful for your future than being a gatherer of good idea and information. That’s called doing your homework.

36. Attitude is greatly shaped by influence and association.

37. Don’t spend most of your time on the voices that don’t count. Tune out the shallow voices so you will have more time to tune in the valuable ones.

38. You must constantly ask yourself these questions: Who am I around? What are they doing to me? What have they got me reading? What have they got me saying? Where do they have me going? What do they have me thinking? And most important, what do they have me becoming? Then ask yourself the big question: Is that okay?

39. Don’t’ join an easy crowd: you won’t grow. Go where the expectations and the demands to perform are high.

40. Don’t use your mind for a filing cabinet. Use your mind to work out problems and find answers; file away good ideas in your journal.

41. The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not a bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humbler, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humor, but without folly.

42. We must learn to help those who deserve it, not just those who need it. Life responds to deserve, not need.

43. Leaders must not be naive, I used to say; "Liars shouldn’t lie, " what a sad waste of words that is! I found out liars are supposed to lie. That’s why we call them liars-they lie! what else would you expect them to do?

44. When dealing with people, I generally take the obvious approach. when someone says, "This always happens to me and that always happens to me. Why do these things always happen to me? " I simply say, "Beats me. I don’t know. All I know is that those kings of things seem to happen to people like you."

45. Lifestyle is the art of discovering ways to live uniquely.

46. Let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things, but not you. Let others cry over small hurts, but not . Let others leave their future in someone’s else’s hands, but not you.

47. How long should you try? Until.

48. To attract attractive people, you must be attractive. To attract powerful people, you must be powerful. To attract committed people, you must be committed. Instead of going to work on them. You got work on yourself.. If you become, you can attract.

49. The most important question to ask on the job is not "What am I getting?" The most important question to ask on the job is "What am I becoming?"

50. The key factor that will determine your financial future is not the economy; the key factor is your philosophy.

51. Don’t borrow someone else’s plan. Develop your own philosophy and it will lead you to unique places.

52. If you learn to set a good sail, the wind that blows will always take you to the dream you want, the income you want, and the treasures of mind, purse, and the soul you want.

53. Philosophy is the sum total of all that you know and what you decide is valuable.

54. Initial response illustrates a great deal about someone’s personal philosophy.

55. You say , "The country is messed up." That’s like cursing the soil and the seed and the sunshine and the rain, which is all you’ve got. Don’t curse all you’ve got. When you get your own planet, you can rearrange this whole deal. This one you’ve got to take like it comes.

56. Take advice, but not orders. Only give yourself orders. Abraham Lincoln once said, "Since I will be no one’s slave, I will be no one’s master."

57. You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of. You don’t have charge of the constellations, but you do have charge of whether you read, develop new skills, and take new classes.

58. Your paycheck is not your employer’s responsibility; it’s your responsibility. Your employer has not control over your value, but you do.

59. The guy says, "When you work where I work, by the time you get home it’s late. You’ve got to have a bite to eat, watch a little TV, relax, and get to bed. You can’t sit up half the night planning, planning, planning, " And he’s the same guy who is behind on his car payment!

60. To solve any problem, here are three questions to ask yourself: First, what could I do? Second, what could I read? And third, whom could I ask?

61. The real problem is usually two or three question deep. If you want to go after someone’s problem, be aware that most people aren’t going to reveal what the real problem is after the first question.

62. Never attack a problem without also presenting a solution.

63. The best place to solve a problem is on paper.

64. Your family and your love must be cultivated like a garden. Time, effort, and imagination must be summoned constantly to keep any relationship flourishing and growing.

65. You cannot succeed by yourself. It’s hard to find a rich hermit.

66. At the end of each day, you should play back the tapes of your performance. The results should either applaud you or prod you.

67. Sales people should take lessons from their kids. What does the word "no" mean to a child? Almost nothing!

68. Don’t’ wish it was easier, wish you were better Don’t wish for less problems; wish for more skills, Don’t wish for fewer challenges; wish for more wisdom.

69. Learn to hide your need and show your skill.

70. Most people are just trying to get through the day. Sophisticated people learn how to get from the day.

71. Sophisticated people don’t leave early. The man says, "Yeah, but I want to beat the traffic." Isn’t that a great skill to have – beating the traffic!

72. One of the early signs of sophistication is not giving way to all inclinations but rather sending your emotions to school so they will learn to behave.

73. You must get good at one of two things: sowing in the spring or begging in the fall.

74. Plant, don’t chant.

75. The soil says, "Don’t bring me your need, bring me your seed."

76. If you wish to have power and influence over the many, be faithful(disciplined) when there is just a few. If you have a few employed, a few distributers, a few people, that’s the time to stay in touch and be totally absorbed-when there is just a few.

77. Be a student, not a follower. Don’t just go do what someone says. Take interest in what someone says, then debate it, ponder it, and consider it from all angles.

78. Success is not to be pursued; it is to be attracted by the person you become.

79. Success is 20% skills and 80% strategy.

80. Success is the study of the obvious. Everyone should take Obvious 1 and Obvious 2 in school.

81. Time is our most valuable asset, yet we tend to waste it, kill it, and spend it rather than invest it.

82. Never begin the day until it is finished on paper.

83. Something will master and something will server. Either you run the day or the day runs you; either you run the business or the business runs you.

84. Days are expensive. When you spend a day, you have one less day to spend. So make sure you spend each one wisely.

85. The major value in life is not what you get. The major value in life is what you become. That is why I wish to pay fair price for every value. If I have to pay for it or earn it, that makes something of me. If I get it for free, that makes nothing of me.

86. Values were meant to be costly. If it doesn’t cost much, we probably wouldn’t appreciate the value.

87. Vocabulary enables us to interpret and to express. If you have a limited vocabulary, you will also have a limited vision and a limited future.

1 Corinthians 12

Paul says’ there is only one spirit but different gift by same spirit. These are the gifts of Holy Spirit

1) Message of Wisdom

2) Message Of Knowledge

3) Faith

4) Healing

5) Miraculous power

6) Prophecy

7) Distinguishing between spirits

8) Speaking in Different kinds of Tongues

9) Interpretation of Tongues

These gifts are given by Holy Spirit just as he determines.

We are one body in Christ just like we have different parts in our body each part has its own importance. We are the body of the Christ. In church these are the different bodies

1) Apostles

2) Prophets

3) Teachers

4) Workers of Miracles

5) Those having Gifts of Healing

6) Those able to help others

7) Those with gifts of administration

8)Those speaking in different kinds of tongues

Genesis 28

Now afraid of Esau, Jacob left to his mothers father land, Where he was planning to find wife for himself. Actually it was suggested by his mother to his father and and Isaac blessed Jacob and send him for the journey. On the way in the night while sleeping he saw a dream in which a staircase from Heaven was on Earth and in Heaven he could see the Lord. And angels were descending and ascending on it. Lord then spoke to him and said, all this land will be his as God had promised his Father Isaac and Grand Father Abraham. He build a altar and called the place Bethel(House of God). He then decided that if God protects him and takes care of him then he will give 10th of whatever God gives him.

Isaiah 47

God warns Babylon and mentions that its fall is due, It was proud thinking that there won’t be any fall for it but its going to happen. He challenges the astrologers to predict but he says that nobody will be there to protect the.

Job 17

Job continues the speech and says his plans have all shattered. He challenges his friends and says “I will not find a wise man among you”.

Bible Study

1 Corinthians 11

This chapter is about who is the head of whom. God is head of Christ, Christ is Head of Man, Man is Head of Women.

Man is suppose to not cover is head while praying, but on contrary women is suppose to cover her head while praying else she should have her hair cut off.

Neither was Man created for Women, but Woman for Man. For this reason and because of angels, the women ought to have a sign of authority on her head. Angel part is not clear to me. Why for Angel something is done, Is the scripture referring to Lucifer or Good angels.

Then the discussion is about Lords Supper, that we should honor it. We should examine ourselves before we partake it else he eats and drinks judgment on himself. So Paul instructs to wait for each other before eating and if anyone is hungry, he should eat at home.

Genesis 27

Here we can learn about the how deceitful Jacob was. He took the blessing which was supposed to be given to Esau. I really feel bad for Esau, the way the things went on. One important concept we can understand is blessing is very important and its not about the name of the person but its about the person himself. Jacob became the head of the all the relatives and his own elder brother and in coming days through him all the nations of the earth will be blessed. It was according to the plan of God, As before he was born God said elder will serve the younger. Also another important aspect is once you gave blessing same blessing cannot be given to other. It seemed like its already flown from Isaac and came upon Jacob, so he couldn’t bless Esau with same blessing. We should try to get blessing from Godly people, in this case Isaac was God chosen person.

Isaiah 46

Here we can see God speaking about his purpose and says that his purpose will stand, and he will do all that he pleases. For fulfilling purpose he will call people from far of land, What he says, he will bring about. What he planned, he will do.

Main idea is about bringing salvation to Zion and it will not be delayed.

Job 16

Job got angry with his friends that they were putting blame on him instead of consoling him. He compared and said that if he had been in similar position he would have given them some relief by his words.

Then he again starts to complain about Why God did all this to him and the agony and pain he is going through. Though he is going through all this mishaps but still his hands are free of violence and his prayer is pure.
